Our Ministries

The 20th Street Church of Christ have several church ministries designed to help its members grow both Spiritually and Physically:

Evangelism Ministry

“Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”, this ministry seeks to save souls and to keep souls saved.” – Matthew 28:19-20. (KJV)

Our goals are to take what we have learned of our Lord and Savior and to go and teach His doctrine. We here at the 20th Street Church of Christ take advantage of every method of teaching from Sermons every first day of the week, weekly bible studies, Facebook, YouTube, Regular mail and every technical means that’s available.

Personal Work Ministry

“58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)

“18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (KJV)

To labor in “Christ’s stead” is to work in Christ’s place, to take up the work that He laid down in this world.

Men’s Ministry

Titus 2:1-2

2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

Titus 2:6-8

6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be
ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. KJV

Ministry in Music, Unity & Voices of Praise

Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord Ephesians 5:19 (KJV)

Unity A Capella Gospel Ensemble has been in the ministry of song well over 30 years. We do what we do because it’s in our heart to serve the Lord by exalting and encouraging others through songs, hymns, and spiritual songs. Praise is what we do but singing isn’t all we do!

Members are also active in various works in the Church to support the membership at large from the young to our senior saints. Realizing that is SO much bigger than us, so it’s easier to put ourselves aside for His will. The love of music is just the glue that keeps us bonded together…through thick and thin.

Technology Ministry

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11 (KJV)

Our purpose is to glorify Christ using technology. To share the gospel teachings with our sick and shut-in as well to those who are not members of our congregation.

Our hope and prayer is that someone in a city, a state, or in a country will Hear a gospel lesson, Believe what they heard, Repent/Give up their sinful habits, Confess Christ as the Son of God, and be Baptized for the remission of their sins, all because of the Technology Ministry.
